Fruit Salad
Ingredients:
- 2 oranges, peeled
- 2 bananas, peeled
- 4 apricots, stoned
- 8-10 white grapes
- 8-10 black grapes
- 8-10 fresh or glace cherries
- 4 tablespoons cherry jam
- 125 ml (4.2 fl oz) apricot or cherry liqueur
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 8-10 blanched almonds, split in half
- 125 ml (4.2 fl oz) cream
Procedure:
- Slice the bananas, apricots and oranges.
- Place in a salad bowl with cherries and grapes.
- Combine liqueur, sugar, almonds and jam in a pan.
- Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 12-15 minutes, stirring until syrupy.
- Cool, then pour over the fruit and stir.
- Chill for 1 hour.
- Put the cream over salad and serve.
